Dental Implants

In order to qualify for dental implant procedures, we recommend to first book a consultation appointment with one of the specialists at Georgia Oral & Facial Reconstructive Surgery. At this stage the surgeon will assess if the jaw bone and gums are healthy and free of any inflammations and after an X-ray is made they will be able to determine if the bone structure is fitted for a dento alveolar surgery.

Dental Implant Procedures We Offer

If the patient qualifies for a dental implant procedure and according to the patient’s needs, the surgeon will suggest one of the following dental implants types:

  • Single tooth implant: a tooth which is missing is replaced by a single dental implant. This procedure doesn’t affect the health of the neighbour teeth and it will help in preserving the jawbone strength as the dental implant is integrate with

This simple procedure is done by the surgeon by drilling a precise small hole into the bone, where the tooth is missing and placing a titanium implant into this hole. During a healing process of up to 5 months, the patient can wear a temporary tooth replacement. After healing is complete, the implant is uncovered and the final crown is placed.

  • Multiple teeth dental implant: like in the case of the single dental implant, this procedure involves replacing the missing teeth with dental implants. The main advantages of the multiple teeth dental implants is that the new teeth will be held in place, the patient doesn’t need to worry about losing the teeth while speaking or eating and the jawbone deterioration is prevented.

If the patient is missing a part of the bone, which will support the dental implants, the supporting bone can be built up using bone augmentation or grafting before the actual implant procedure begins.

Dento alveolar surgery is always done under anaesthesia, in order to offer our patients a pain-free and comfortable experience. Our surgeons will make sure that all our patients will receive a customized new crown to fit their smile.

Recovery from Dental Implant Procedures

During the healing period, we recommend to our patients to go on a soft diet so that the implant can integrate in the jaw bone properly. It is also expected to feel some discomfort and swelling after the surgery, however your surgeon will prescribe pain medication to ease the discomfort. Our patients’ comfort and safety are top priorities at Georgia Oral & Facial Reconstructive Surgery, and our surgeons will be happy to answer any questions you have during your treatment time.
